What to do with that lace!

I hope everyone had a nice Christmas. I didn't especially, my kids spent it with their dad and I missed them so much.
But I did do one thing...........I used a bit of the crocheted lace from my last post to make a hairclip for my daughter. I basically cut off about 7 inches and used it as tho I was making a ribbon rose and then sewed it onto a clip. It took a fair bit of spray starch to make it look flowery!

Hopefully I will be able to set up the sewing room soon and get started into some real sewing!

One old doily

I'm itching to sew but still haven't gotten my sewing room set up. So this is what I did.
I've always had an appreciation of embroidered doilies, I've even made some myself, but, with a young children I'm reluctant to use them. I always buy them when I am lucky enough to find them in a shop.

This was an old hand embroidered doily that had rust stains in the middle. So I re-used portions of it.

From doily to all this...
I got hair ties, 6 buttons and about a metre of hand crocheted lace...........

Starting over

In the past year I have moved to the country............a picture of hydrangeas picked from my garden using the macro function on my camera.
